      Application Procedures

First Step is to contact E-JAM’s office at 876-974-EJAM (3526), or email: jobs@employmentjamaica.com to make an appointment to attend one of our orientation/ registration sessions.

During the orientation, you will be fully informed about the program and if you desire to participate in the program you will undergo a one-on-one pre-screening interview. Our goal is to seek candidates with a “can do” attitude and the potential to act as Ambassadors for Jamaica.

      • E-JAM’s signed Application Form including Terms and Conditions
      • An updated typed resume
      • Copy of a valid passport
      • Proof of Student status - must be on school’s letterhead stating course and year of graduation - (For J1 applicants only)

Your application will be completed once we have received all the required documentation and verify that the information provided is correct. Applications will not be considered if there is missing paperwork. Once your application is approved, your information will be uploaded in our database and presented to our overseas employers.

We generally submit your application to more than one employer who has a position that matches your skills. You will be notified as soon as we get confirmation from an employer. Often times, employers will conduct their own interviews, either by telephone, webcam, or in person.

We do not charge any placement fees - In January 2009, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the US Department of Labor (DOL) released new rules governing the H-2B program. One of the major changes initiated is the inability for any recruiter, agent, attorney, or employer to charge an H2B worker a placement fee.

In many instances workers will be responsible for their return airfare, ground transportation, housing deposit, medical insurance and visa fee.
